im not really asking for a definition but, if i have 2 13W CFL 6500k directly over my tank, would that be considered high light? i know they have the PAR tests but i dont think they had any for CFL's...

i thought it was high light but.. and i may be impatient but, my glossos' are growing rather slowly @ 9 inches away from the lights, on 12 hours a day, with Co2 & excel... o_o

alternatively, i have 2, 23W 6500k cfl's i may begin to try over my 5.5G, which is roughly 12 inches from the top of the substrate...

Look at the spiral bulb sticky in the lighting section. It tells you exactly what wattage, bulb and color temp to use over a 5 gallon tank to achieve low, medium or high light.
