I was cleaning some detritus out of my flame moss with a toothbrush and noticed this growing on/in my flame moss on a piece of driftwood. It does not look like anything I have in my tank. Is this algae of some sort?

Hmm. I pulled most of it out. Still some left. Maybe I will let it go. Thanks for the information, though.

Don't pull it out. It's also known as pellia, and is actually a very attractive plant.

Pelia is not sub. Similar in appearance, but not the same plant.

It looks ugly in small portions like you pictured but when it grows a decent sized bunch it looks very nice.
