What do you think of a Rosy Barb for a planted community fish tank?

They are red and have a cool look to them.

Has anyone has any experience or trouble with these fish?

They have been known to eat plants. I wouldn't put them in a planted tank. You could try them and give them away if it doesn't work out.

I have kept them in two of my planted tanks without any problem. They haven't bothered the plants. I keep at least two females for every male. The males become very red and are quite beautiful.

They will be your best friends if you have GSA to scrape off the tank. Great algae eaters and will eat soft leaved plants so if you have a lot of delicate types stay away but if your plants are sturdy and grow quick then they sure are pretty fish. They ate some plants but didn't destroy any planting.
