Too linear, spread plants around a bit, but leave an open space somewhere, preferably towards front of tank. Consider a dark brown or black background.

That looks like a nice betta, an ADF, and a yellow apple snail, anything else? Let your tank cycle a bit, but change 50% every other day, until ammonia and nitrite levels are nil. Since you seem to have an HOB consider putting a spath, spider, dieffenbachia, or even philadendron/pothos plant in filter box, to keep nitrates down (Check the Planted HOB thread in Plants section)

Plants seem low light species, but do you have aquarium tank lights?
Does your tank have a heater? or is your home on average above 75F?

Yes there is a heater water stays at around 76 degrees. I have a 6500k Compact florescent bulb. Sorry for the blurry picture. I am going to do a rescape soon. There is 4 albino glolight tetras and a rasbora. I have been doing a 20 percent change every other day ammonia is close to zero but i use my old filter cartlidge to jump start my cycle
