I’ve decided I want to have shrimp again but I got rid of all my small tanks. I have a tank that’s 50L 21H 12W and one that’s 36L 17H 19W inches. Which one would be better for neocaridinas? I’m new here so I’m not sure if I’m even asking in the right place.

Surface area seems to be much better utilized than depth. That being said, either would make a good shrimp tank. Just put some large driftwood or such to create more climbing surfaces if you have access to it for the tall tank.

Ditto @Blue Ridge Reef

They will climb and clean whatever you put in the tank. So fill 'er up! just make sure light can get where it needs to go obviously. For the most part though, the size of the foot print is what will make most aquarium life happy.

Agree with the others, either can work. If you have access to them, you can always get ledges that suction to the sides of the tank to create more 'levels'.... or use plants and/or driftwood to create more "ground" space.
