I recently bight a new bulb for my JBJ 36'' 2x96w PC lighting fixture because one was the actinic blue bulb and the other was already an 10000k. So i went out and got an 6700k bulb, when i got home i notice that the new 6700k bulb was so much bigger (wider and bulb was bigger in circumference... almost didn't fit the clip). when i turned it on i was so much brighter than the 10000k ... so does this mean my 10000k is old and should i replace it with another daylight bulb or just keep it?

PC tubes come in at least two diameters. It depends on the manufacturer. I'd say it's roughly the difference between T5 and T6, but a lot of what I'm seeing is metric these days so T? doesn't necessarily measure in 1/8" increments.

If you want brighter, go for it.

How old is the 10k? I've heard reports that said the output is greatly reduced after a year. I swapped some out at 10 months and noticed the difference.

Different colors and manufacturers will look different though.
