Several months after originally setup, the Landen aquasoil in my high tech 40B is sprouting some random weeds. Yes I realize that the other plants in my tank are also weeds 🙂

One plant is a dwarf hairgrass-type plant. The other started out with simple ovoid leaves but now have compound pinnate type leaves resembling dandelion leaves. What is it?

Ceratopteris thalictroides, aka watersprite. It's an aquatic fern.

Will let it grow of course and post a followup. Strange they are popping up now maybe 6 months after soil was submerged.

Possibly. It should be more obvious as it grows in.

Well it is bigger, but gotta make room for the other weeds, so it’s gotta go!
