water sprite can be planted into substrate? or should be just floating. I do have nice bunch of water sprite floating all over the tank, but I am thinking about planting few new young sprouts into the substrate, is it ok?
Water sprite is best planted. I plant mine leaving the crown and about a quarter to half inch of root above the substrate. A couple root tabs around it and watch it reach the top on the tank in no time.
Go ahead and plant it--it grows like a weed. If you have the Oak Leaf variety (broad leaves) then it'll produce endless plantlets that break off and float to the surface in no time so you can have both.
