How crucial is the ph and alkanitity? Im sure absolute perfect parameters = amazing growth rates. But is it crucial to plants at all? They will grow in higher parameters because mine are so far, but lately the crypts have started getting brown leaves around the edges which lead to a dying leave in the next few days. Had the tank up and running for about a month and half with plants in it. I only have the test strips to test parameter which i have heard are not the greatest.

How does one get good parameters? Water out of the tap tests high ( well water with a water softener) I have put neutral regulator by Seachem but seems to have no effect. Do i need a RO system to get the correct parameters?

First thing first, buy the liquid test not the strip test. Trust me they gave me inaccurate readings while they read 6.0 ppm ph, the liquid test read 7.5.
