water hyancinth

So just for the heck of it , I threw some water hyacinth in my 75 gallon and it took over like wildfire. i noticed that there are little green bugs on the leaves and they are multiplying. Any suggestions on how to control them? I just noticed them the past month.

Perhaps they are just aphids?

Just take your plants out and give them a quick rinse, and they should wash away. After all, if they are indeed aphids, they will not be able to survive underwater.
