Can you grow water hyacinth in a planted tank?

Depends on the size of the tank and lighting, but I wouldn't recommend it
I grow them in my larger aquariums in a greenhouse. Much higher light than any aquarium I have seen.
Unless under very unusual circumstances, they are an outdoor pond plant.
I've been growing it in a 60g hi-light tank for some 4+ years.
It's a very, very invasive plant. If it gets into large water supplies it never leaves and clogs everything up. I suggest you set it on fire.
