Vortex diatom XL bag question

On new Vortex diatom XL bags, the black plastic neck of the bag is in two pieces. The short cylindrical piece permanently attached to the bag, and the bigger plastic piece that fits up into the main casting where the impeller is.

Are those pieces supposed to be glued together? The manual & their website always show them together, but don't mention gluing.

The two plastic pieces seem to come apart when back flushing, so I have to take the filter apart. I do shake the filter some when back flushing, but not that hard.

Hi,
I live in the same city where the Vortex Innerspace Products plant is located, so I know the filters pretty well. The peices you are talking about are supposed to be seperate, they are not supposed to be glued together.
