Unless you a pretty big tank, they are just too powerful. Even on their lowest settings. Well.... that was my experience anyway. I would say like a 40 breeder would probably be the minimum for the smallest vortech.
Vortech Pumps
Just curious how many of you use this type of pump in your planted tank?

I have a 90 gallon and I have the apex unit so I would be able to control them. I know they are normally used in reef tanks, but was thinking if I put two of them in a could create a nice flow back and forth. I have two Hydor's in there now. With the apex I have the left and the right alternate every two hours
