I tossed an algae wafer in the tank last night after feeding with flakes and as usual the Pleco came down off of his perch and started feeding on the wafer. The tank gets very active later in the evening and much to my surprise I had 4 different species of fish feeding at the same time on the wafer. The Angels actually pulled it away from the Pleco and as the angels were feeding the 3 Corys came over and ate also. As the angels, pleco and corys were taking turns an Otto darted in to have a nibble also. A great event to witness!!

I can't prove it, but I do the same thing when the lights go off in my tank. I break the wafer in pieces and toss it in several spots. I'm hoping it helps feed my oto's as my corys are ravenous eaters. Every morning when the lights go on I do notice my oto's have full bellies :)

How often do you use algae wafers?
