Well, any suggestions? If I ever do a black water tank in the future, are there any plants that would do well in very low (potentially below 5) PH and low TDS? Plants that will readily grow emersed in a open top setup, such as lucky bamboo, would be especially appreciated.

There are bog plants(carnivorous, iris, grasses, lily/lotus), but I don't know you can constantly maintain a tank at a pH of 5 and sustain plant diversity. Floaters with big roots look sexy in a blackwater setup.

tonina species and other species (syngonanthus) from the rio are good soft water lovin plants (they also need co2/good light however though). Most of the softwater plants are also high light plants because they are usually found in shallow blackwater rivers in south america, so they are used to getting a good amount of sun.
