What are the pros and cons of having a UV sterilizer?
Do UV sterilizers affect fertilizers, co2, or any tank additives for that matter?
I'm debating if I should get one for my 30c aquarium tank.

Getting the correct unit sized properly for parasite kill rate on the dwell there is no down side to having one. While it's been debated (like everything) the unit doesn't have to be run 24/7 to be useful.

Pros: You don't need one unless you need one
Cons: A needless out of pocket expense unless you need one.

In all my decades of planted tank keeping I've only needed to use one once to kill off floating green algae.
