At some point I decided to trim it down to the ground because there was too much dead leaf polluting the water. After that it started growing again and pretty much finished carpeting when all of a sudden it started melting again. This time I started seeing some bad signs in other plants which was potassium deficiency. Then one day I realized what happened. The potassium deficiency usually causes holes in the leafs but that's not on all plants. Dwarf Saggitaria's leaf structure is different and the potassium deficiency doesn't cause holes but causes a damage spot on the leaf which causes the leaf to die completely. I believe the Purigen triggered the potassium deficiency because it was probably low and the Purigen absorbed it. The second time this happened I was not using Purigen anymore but I didn't increase the ferts either so the carpet grew and increased the demand while I failed to increase the supply because didn't realize yet what was going on. I am now planning to trim it again and increase the ferts dose so I am pretty confident this should not happen again. I hope someone gets to learn from this 😊Has there been any change?
