Seriously! I've got a girl betta who gives the best sad puppy eyes ever! We should breed them and try to breed "sad puppy eye" bettas... lol... It doesn't seem like all bettas are that way, but it's still very neat when you find one that has that extra glimmer of perception to understand that the food seems to come from this giant hairless monkey that hovers over the pond.

It all depends on the other inhabitants. Anything flashy and colorful with long fins is going to attract his ire. So far, I've had the best luck with a male betta with a few female bettas in a 30 gallon.
