A long time ago I posted some first phase shots of this tank (back in April/May or so??)-- I forget. But I recently shot it again. The tank is doing very well and interestingly gets next to NO liquid fertilization. This client has the same bottle of Step and Brighty K I gave her last summer. She travels a lot and just generally does not remember to dose the tank when she feeds the fish. I also have got in the routine of only doing every 10-14 days water changes on this tank, and it has done very well with no algae present whatsoever.

Substrate is full ADA-- Aqua Soil, Power Sand SPECIAL M, Tourmaline BC and BRIGHT SAND decorative sand.
Lighting is ADA GRAND SOLAR I (2 X 36 watt PC and 1 X 150 HQI, all 8000K).

Gorgeous. =)

One day, I'll have a tank like that.
WOW! you're a great aquascaper!
This tank is truly breathtaking. What type of fish does your client have in this tank, and how long do you leave your HQI lights on?
super nice! i'm jealous. :)
Hey Jeff - very nicely scaped tank you've put together :)
Very nice looking tank -- good job!
Is that rotala sp. 'green' that's growing up to the top in the back, middle/left?
Thanks!

Yes-- that's Rotala rotundifolia "green". I have been saying for years that it should be a staple in every shop and online store selling plants-- but it seems rather hard to find still. Weird. It is such a versatile and easy to grow stemmed plant.

Some of the fish include Brilliant Rasbora, Pearl Gourami, gold tetras, Emerald Eye Rasbora, Checkerboard cichlid, Danio choprae, featherfin rainbows, Penguin tetras, and tiny tiny Barbus gracillus.

HQIs run for 4 hours per day.
Any tips on keeping the moss so pristine? I had a hell of a time keeping algae, dirt, poop, you name it out of mine.

Also wanted to mention I picked up your book on Amazon and its been a great read! Really well put together.
Tank looks really nice Jeff!

I remember when you posted the initial pictures and you could see all the sand:hihi: now it's pretty much all covered up!

You really have a good sense of creativity, The tank looks great.
The tank has turned out really nice, I love clarity of the water. Jeff, what kind of camera did you use to take these pictures?
what kind of moss is that in there? weeping moss?
Thanks!

I have tons of it. ;) I love the plant myself because it's so versatile and prolific.
Nice job, Jeff. I can't wait for you to send me my AS so I can do a new setup. The greens are great and I live the composition.
someday... someday i will create a beauty like this... i'd definitely give u more than two thumbs up, but unfortunately, we're only born with two. absolutely in awe
