I've just temporarily hooked mine up to the inflow on a Maxijet 900 power head while I await an external pump (it's the water flow I'm trying to improve). I used to have it on the outflow of my Ehiem 2213. I notice that I have much smaller micro bubbles now than I had. That is likely due to a combination of having it on the inflow and in a larger flow rate. I will definitely be placing it into the inflow on the pump as I am convinced the additional agitation produced by the impeller assists in the absorption rate.
