Is undergravel filter and plants a bad mix.

Presently I run a fluval 403 all the time. I run to powerheads at night.

Is the extra circulation through the gravel good, bad or indifferent?

Short Answer- Yes

Long Answer- Yes because the plants roots get entangled into the filter. You have to do monthly(sometime Bi-Monthly) cleanings of the filter and that means you have to rescape all the time. And it is not the best a filtrating water IMO.
