Hi,

My 3 or 4 month old angelfish is occasionally twitchy and has white stringy poop. I'm feeding spirulina/garlic and he is eating it like a champ.

I've been all over the internet and most say this means parasite.

I'm setting up my qt. Should I quarantine, then medicate or just add salt? What temp?

Thanks.

Not an expert but ... white / transparent stringy poop is a symptom of internal parasites... which there is 2 main medicament that are frequently used.
Praquizol and Metronidazole... or something like that :) Google it... even with misspelling

The twitching could be a external parasite the white poop could be a parasite or just constipation from over feeding ,angels are very sensitive fish to water parameters and feeding stop feeding for a day and do a 50% water change add a little salt to the tank 1/2 tbsp per 10 gal , angels will over eat there pigs that way so you need to put them on a schedule for feeding no more than 2 times daily no more than whey will eat in 30 seconds.
Garlic is a good food or bloodworms once daily, I bought a deworming food from angelsplus that works great I feed it once in a while now just to keep them clear.
If they still flash/twitch after the water change then I would treat with meds api pimifax a natural and safe for planted tank medican.

Funny you say that.

I did a 60% water change yesterday and I am not in the office today (tank is at work) so they won't be fed.

I also bought from kensfish medicated food and Tetra parasite guard. I'll quarantine the fish and try these options if it persists.

The qt tank is set up. It's 13 gallons. I added about 2 tbsp salt.

Thanks!
