My first tank in about 4 years.

Specs so far:

Mr. Aqua 22 gallon 36" x 12" x 12"
ADA Amazonia and petco white sand.
3d printed slope dams.
Ryuoh Stone

Equipment I'm considering:
Finnex 24/7 or Current Satellite Pro
GLA Solenoid and co2 setup.
Cali glass Lily pipes. Or stainless steel.
Fluval g3 Canister filter.

My next project is to switch the outlet above the sink to a safer one.

Nice start. IMO it would be a good idea to separate sand and aquasoil somehow or it will all mix in eventually when setup.

I second Salman, it'll definitely mix, I would suggest getting some Sclupey III clay, mould it, bake it, insert it. Make it high enough so that they don't mix, then maybe grow some type of foreground plant to cover up the difference.

On another note, I'm loving the equipment and direction the tank is going!

I actually 3d printed black separation walls between the sand and the aquasoil so I'm all set!

Update for the tank!

Bought some HC and Staurogyne Repens to begin a dry start!
I also picked up a Finnex Planted+ 24/7. I'm super impressed by this light. Nice and sturdy. Crazy brightness. Fun features. The only thing that bugged me is that the RF receiver for the remote has a long obnoxious cable so I 3d printed some clips to hang it off the back.

Thanks so much! My first go so I'm kinda nervous. IS THERE ENOUGH WATER?! IS THERE TOO MUCH?! IS EVERYTHING GOING TO SET ON FIRE?!

Tank has been flooded!
DSM was yellowing the HC. That was my fault though. I was a big dummy and my HC was purchased immersed and I think it was having a hard time adapting.
I also purchased my GLA Gro regulator and Milwaukee PH meter.

Thanks so much! The plan so far is:
crystal shrimp (black and white)
Rummy Nose and Diamond Tetra
Otocinclus
and pygmy cory

I might start with just shrimp for the first few months and introduce a pair of blue rams in at the end as shrimp population control.

Update on the tank! About a month since flooding and hopefully things are starting to balance out a bit. Having some difficulties with HC carpet. I think it was due to the low ph. My co2 is only able to drop my ph 0.3 at the most.

Tank residents are now

10x Rummy Nose Tetra

10x Flame Tetra

6x Otocinclus

2x German Blue Rams.

Growth has been crazy. Trimming at least once a week. Moved some plants around.
