For me it is just snip snip done. I even just go lawn mower style and not even look where I cut and cut 10 stems at once. Not really hard. I don't think a "special place" is even needed for the subject.
trimming Plants
I was looking for how to trim plants either in plant profiles or in a thread and could not find a thread just for trimming plants.
I lot of discussion is made on this subject. I think that there should be a dedicated topic field, thread for different species of plants. or in the profiles department.

May be in the plant profiles:
Micro sword trimming Lawnmower style
Lotus trim at bulb
anubias; Trim rizomes
It would be just a little more info in one place instead of sifting through threads for it
