Hi friends,

I have a 10 gallon (20 inches x 10 inches x 10 inches) that is fairly established with majority of plants with developed root systems. This is my first tank, and unfortunately, I started off with too much aquasoil. It is currently 5 inches in the back and 4 inches in the front. Functionally, there is nothing wrong with the current set up. I was just hoping to find a way to remove some of the soil to create a deeper slope and create more space within the tank. With so much substrate, it makes the tank look so small. Ideally, if I could remove 1 - 1.5 inches I think the tank would look better.

I currently have:
  • 2 amano shrimp
  • 3 kuhli loaches
  • 4 red cherries

Does anyone have any advice/tips for removing soil?

Thanks!
