I added a Red Tiger Lotus to my aquarium about 5 weeks ago. I have noticed the growth of my other rooted plants have slowed down in growth. After reading I am sure the Lotus is stealing all the nutrients from the surrounding plants. Can I remove it by just cutting the roots?

Why not dose extra nutrients so all plants have enough?
