Ok so I just ordered two Tiger Lotus' (green and red) and after I started reading, I'm a little concerned it may choke out my other plants.

After adding them, I would consider my tank to be a heavily planted dirted 75g (low tech).

I skipped a week of ferts to control some algae, but i plan on starting again next week after the Lotus arrive. Is there any special precaution I should take? I read that some people suggest putting the roots in bags? I'm afraid they may kill my other plants.

The red one will be a centerpiece and the green will be in the background.

Im sure you all have some suggestions, so please let me hear them!

You won't have issues with them taking over.
No worries. Just plant them where you like.
