Can anyone ID this? I have no idea where to put such a thread but it really came out of my shrimp tank. It was swimming underwater and then it became this fly.

Or a damselfly which are smaller. Be careful, when they are aquatic they are vicious and will eat small shrimp.

Damselflies (which this is) are predatory, in or out of the water. As aquatic larvae, they feed on whatever they can catch on the prowl - for this guy, that has meant young shrimp. As adults, they feed on whatever they can catch on the wing - which means any mosquitoes or smaller flies in your house had best watch their P's & Q's!

Damselfly. Dragonflies can't fold their wings. Both have VERY predatory aquatic nymphs. It probably hitch hiked in on a plant...
