Thinking of rebooting...

Well now that I have moved and hopefully settling into a longer term arrangement now I've considered setting up something around 40g. Still lots of planning and deciding to do, also have to make room for one. Definitely will be a planted aquarium and I have lots of ideas flowing around.

Craigthor!
I know right... still trying to convince myself that I want the work again.
So after the rounds at a few pet stores I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Frameless Cubes? I believe these are Marineland tanks, they look mostly decent silicone is a bit sloppy but I guess what would you expect from mass produced tanks.

Also wouldn't mind going back to an ADA or like as the finish is always top notch just not sure as shipping is killer.

Set it up low light/low tech!

Might as well save yourself some $$ and get the ADA to start off. Cuz knowing you, you'll end up getting it sooner or later anyways. :red_mouth
Nice to see you back in the game or at least considering it. What did you ever do with that sump you had on your 220? And didn't you have a builder in Iowa build it for you? I have been looking at getting a larger sump or wet/dry for my tank and all the quotes I have got from custom builders are a little hard to swallow. The shipping is what is killing it for me and I thought maybe a builder that was closer would be a better option.

.

Yes, he was out of the Des Moines area I can try to see if he is still around and doing custom stuff. I ended up getting it sold months after I moved and drove it half way to Ohio for delivery.
Here is one of my design thoughts, this would incorporate 3- 30cm tanks and filters. Allows me to tinker with multiple tanks yet have a scape grow out fully. Plan would be to start one once it is going start the next and so on. System would incorporate inline heaters and inline co2 diffusers to keep equipment out of the small tanks. Total height would be about 80" give or take and 40" wide. There would be a hollow center channel between the section for running CO2 to each area. Lighting would be LED of some type possibly Finnex 12" FugeRay or Planted plus.

2 Book cases removed, will have to finish the panel behind the built in part. Built this mock up out of boxes so we can play with it. With this layout I could fit up to 5- 12" cube tanks along the top.

5 days in and you're already from a single 40P to FIVE 30cm cubes.

I'm rolling. :hihi:
