I currently have an XP3 on my 30 gallon tank. It has a CO2 reactor and an inline heater hooked up to the outflow side. I am thinking of getting an Eheim (the xp3 is a bit too loud for me). I was thinking the 2213 (on sale) would be adequate for the tank, but when I look at the outflow l/h compared to the XP3, it is less than half - but the reccomended tank size is on the low end of the reccomended tank size for the xp3.

So I guess my question is, if I do get an eheim should I go with the 2213 or the 2215 (they are the only ones on sale)? I will still have the co2 reactor and hydor inline heater hooked up. I don't want to reduce the flow too much, because right now the XP3 is barely cutting it, in my opinion (but my hoses are filthy.. so that contributes a bit to the problem).

IMO the 2213 is underpowered for a 30 gallon. Then you want to add the CO2 reactor, and inline heater. If your only choices are between the 2213 & the 2215, go with the 2215.

Well.. the other option is save my pennies and buy the right filter, since the one I have works.. heh.
