Let me give you a word of advice: never mix the mud in a bucket and let it sit until it's ready. Even when you use the right soil, it smells like one of the most putrid things EVER eek5::icon_redf)when you open it. I wrapped mine in a trash bag so if I accidentally knocked it over it wouldn't get on the floor. I opened it a week or two later, and I gagged the whole time I was putting it in the tank. Now I understand why you are supposed to let the soil stabalize for a while before you put the fish in...

Setting up a new dirt tank I'll set the soil and capping materials dry then flood and plant the tank. Never thought about making mud pudding first.
