'ello all! I am currently planning on owning a colony of Girardinus metallicus (a wild livebearer) in a 10 gallon tank. I also have a betta that is currently in a container pond with a heater. What I am asking is, 'is it safe risking introducing the betta to the livebearers if I get them?' This fish has cohabited with ghost shrimp before without eating them.

A betta might pick off some of the fry or possibly even a male; they're tiny, except for the occasional giant male, which looks like a female with a gonopodium. A great little fish, & even does well in soft NYC tapwater, unlike most livebearers. I've used them as dithers for Apistogrammas.
