This is my first thread so here it goes

TANK: Mr. Aqua 12 gallon long
LIGHTING: UP Aqua Pro Z LED
FILTER:: Eheim 2213
CO2: Max Aqua regulator with glass diffuser
GLASSWARE: GUSH lily pipes (inflow and outflow), gush orb drop checker, ADA thermometer
HEATER: Fluval tronic 50w
SUBSTRATE: ADA power sand special & ADA amazonia
SUBSTRATE ADDITIVES: ADA Bacter 100, Tourmaline BC & Clear Super
HARDSCAPE: Seiryu stone

Ok so I got most of this stuff for christmas including the actual tank (I'm 14 by the way), some from family and some from "santa" because my sister still believes. I have two tanks already one is a shrimp breeding tank and the other a plain old fluval edge, for this tank I really want to try out some iwagumi and see how it goes. I am still learning and need all the help I can get :help: so if im not doing this quite right your advice would be great.

so today I started the hardscape and this is how it went

I will be doing a DSM and as for plants I have some HC in another tank which I will be planting and hopefully it will carpet, can anyone suggest some good foreground plants? Ive thought of UG and hairgrass that I could put in and around the rock work.

Thanks everyone for the feedback!

I played with the left hand side and found a placement that I kinda like and was wondering on everyones thoughts of whether I should stick with the second or go back to the first here are some pics of the second

Also while breaking up some of the seiryu stones to make smaller pieces I noticed some crystal type things can anyone tell if these would be safe for the tank exposed to the water, I know because its in the stone normally that it would be safe but because there is concealing it I'm not sure, anyway I thought it looked pretty cool so here is a photo

Great start. I've just begun a like setup with a similar hardscape.

Your scape look great. The main rock is a beauty and really controls the focal point well. Nice job.

On the right side, I like the first better than the second arrangement.
