The Colorado Aquarium Society will have its huge spring auction on March 22, at 6750 Carr St., Arvada Co in the hall in the South end of the church. Viewing starts at 9:00 and the auction will begin promptly at 10:00. No cover charge, all visiters are welcome! Most of the fish will be fish that are bred and raised by local aquariumists. But The Colorado Aquarium Society is bringing in some special species that are not normally available.

We will have saltwater and marine fish this year. Last year some people got some very cheap marine fish because not enough salt water people showed up.

We are bringing in a shipment of Killifish just for the auction so if you want Killifish now is the time. We are bringing in a shipment of plants from a grower, We have ordered some Apistogrammas and some unusual shrimp and dwarf crayfish. There will be multiple bags of some very rare central American fish. Quite a few cichlids as well. We expect over 800 bags of fish!

There will be some unusual stuff there, all at auction prices.

Lots of used tanks, filters and equipment. Chemicals and Food! Door Prizes and Raffles of tanks and equipment.

It is your chance to meet your fellow hobbyists, talk fish and get some bargains! Go to: http://www.coloradoaquarium.org for more information

I've never been to one of these. >.>

Are these silent auctions? Is anything just sold without an auction? I hate standard loud bidding auctions....
The main auction is a bidding auction. But often we have so many bags of fish that they start going for $1 a fish, just because there are too many. I bought 4 green dragons for $4 and 5 pelvichromas pulchers for $5.00 at the last one. We do have "Quick Sale" tables for used equipment, tanks, heaters, filters and smaller items. Come on by, there is no cover charge and you will find lots of people that you can talk to. You can talk to the people that raised the fish and get some inside tips.

Trust me, this is the place to get some of the rare not offered by LFS type of fish. It is a loud auction. If there is an item you want, you can pay 2.00 to move it up to be the next item auctioned off. I have gotten some VERY rare rainbow fish the past few times I went. Larry has quite a few of the species of rainbow fish that a former hobbiest collected / received with Gary Lange. VERY hard to find, and you can get them at a great price. I paid less than what a LFS would charge for ONE fish for a group of 5.

I will be there :) bringing some good dough too lol Full on fish, but there are other items I could always get.
