Does this stuff work? Has anyone used it in a planted aquarium?
I know it's not a long term fix, but I had some spirogyra come in on some plants recently, and like past infestations, this stuff is a pain to kick. CO2 is good, light isn't too much, and dosing EI light with small amount of daily excel. (2.5 gallon). Problem is, the happier the plants are, the faster the spirogyra grows.
So I saw the Tetra algae control in a LFS today, and it states it kills spirogyra, among others, but is safe for plants.

I have some fissidens moss in the aquarium, if it matters.

Thanks for the help/feedback!

I´m always sceptical when it comes to complete solutions in a bottle.
How is the current in your tank?

The current is decent for a small tank... running a zoomed 501, I don't have a ton of stems blocking the flow. With spirogyra I've found it doesn't really matter. I've had a screaming infestation in a 5.5 gallon with a ecco 2232 filter and a powerhead... about as much flow as you can get in a tank that small. If i remember correctly, spirogyra is eutrophic in nature, that is it thrives in enviroments where plants thrive.

So do anyone have any experience with this stuff? (the algaecide, not the spiro)

Thanks!
