HM digital TDS-3 works well for me. Fairly inexpensive too, $20 bucks or so. It also tells temp. I double check the accuracy with calibration liquid and it stays true.
As for PH, I run a controller and have replaced the Milwaukee probe it came with to a American Marine one now just because of price. Couldn't really say which brand is better they don't last forever and require calibration fairly often. Ph portable stick pens I have no experience with. But I do know that since ph probes must stay wet, you risk drying them out easily. The reviews on ph pens tend to be shaky because of misuse.
