Hello! I'm working on a big terrarium. I was gonna just do a 29 gallon aquarium as the base, but after picking up a table for it the tank looks a lot smaller and sorta weird in comparison. I was wondering if it would be possible to get another 29 gallon, remove the rims, then cut off the silicone from one of the middle sides of each, then silicone them together to create a much larger terrarium (essentially turning the two 30"x12"x18" aquariums into a 30"x12"x18" terrarium). I had looked up some stuff about this beforehand, but the only things I could find were people thinking of using the idea for an aquarium, where they were told the water pressure would likely be too much. Since there won't be much water in my terrarium (I don't plan on doing any sort of pond and if I do I would probably just get around this problem by finding a bowl and burying it into the substrate, meaning there would just be the drainage layer water) I was wondering if this idea would be possible.

Pretty sure I don't understand the finished dimensions, but if you are joining two aquariums together side by side, then I'd imagine it would be rather floppy. Probably difficult to move around but with enough silicone it would hold some dirt. It won't look great and it will be a giant pain to create.

If you want a bigger terrarium you might consider getting a bigger tank. Check out frogcube.com for kits to make an aquarium into a vivarium. There are other options out there that can work as well depending on what you want to keep.

For my gecko tank I took a 40 breeder and a exo terra tank and combined them. For that build I just needed to turn the exo terra upside down though.
