I'm in San Diego so we may have a different water source, but ours is a tad over 300 here. Going to get a RODI system soon.

EDIT -- that's ppm, not the other metric, which for us is over 500 mg/l

Have you considered hitting up the SCAPE forums? There's a ton of people in OC that would likely be able to help you out.

I'm also San Diego. 300's for TDS, and 8+ for pH. I should have just gone with rift cichlids or shellies I'm also probably going to get an RO soon. Buying it at the pet store is no good when I need 25gal just to do a 20% water change. Needless to say my water changes are far less frequent than they should be...
