Hey guys! I jumped all over the Tantora products so I wanted to share with you my experiences with them.

Tantora Catappa Logs

This was the first product that caught my attention from their line. $10 per log seems expensive but I looked at it as a breeding tube with benefits because it produces the same benefits as Catappa leaves (IALs)
Note: keep the fishing line tied on and do not boil if you want to keep it as a log. This is a flat piece of bark that is rolled up into a log. I always catch my momma shrimp chillin' in there so it will be used. Trust me :)

Tantora Dried Guava Leaves

These take awhile for shrimp to even be drawn to them. I thought they were worthless until I saw this...

They don't crazy over them but supposedly they are really good for their anti bacterial qualities.

Tantora Mulberry leaves

Just had one day with theses but my CRS babies are all over it. I don't see much action with the adults yet. I'll update you on how long they last. The leaves seem very thin and not durable as Indian Almond Leaves

I got lucky with this big sucker :)

Tantora Catappa Bark

This stuff is like the logs but they are cut up into pieces that you can spread throughout your tank. It's nice to have a lot of natural food and grazing surfaces in my tanks now :)

Tantora dried banana leaves

Only have these leaves in my tank for a day or so and I don't notice any reaction among the shrimp yet so I'll keep you posted :)

I feed my shrimp the mulberry leaves once every couple of weeks. They break down really fast which I think makes it easy for the shrimps to eat. They don't last more than a couple of days in my tanks. Great stuff!

Great review Tanner, glad you liked your order!

I find that the mulberry leaves are more of a food. My shrimp will consume a fist sized one in about 2-3 days. That one you show is giant. I'm impressed that came in the Tantora package.
I love the logs, by far best value in the Tantora line. They are a bit more $ than any of the other products, but they provide multiple uses in shrimp tanks A great place for shrimp to hide in and crawl all over, bacteria grow on it to feed the shrimp, tannis from the catappa. Just a great product all around and they will last a long time.
I love mulberry leaves for my shrimp when I can get them.

Banana leaves I'm not sold on, but I know Stef likes those. :)
A bit info for a shrimp keepers. If you guys can get your hands on fresh mulberry leaves it's a great source of food for these lil buggers. I got myself a mulberry tree and have a wild almond tree in my back yard. The mulberry leaves I pick fresh green ones and boil it like I do spinach. Drop it in the tank and leave it. The great part about this is that it last 100x longer than spinach and you don't need to remove it.

The mulberry leaves here are use for diabetes. People here dry it and make tea from the leaves great product natural.

I take one leaf, boil it, cut it in half, and place the halves into two separate tanks. I find that I get about 2-3 days max out of them before they are gone - like totally devoured. What I found funny is that it is just constant. I have a tank with probably 80 or 90 mischlings in it, and while they don't all swarm it at once (like the pellet food), there is always someone(s) feeding on it around the clock.

:) Yes, I like my banana leaves. Everything always seems to flourish in the tank, except some green algae (s). I have use IAL and alder cones, too. I plop stuff in the tank like I'm making a salad.

I never tried the mulberry, and shrimp are pretty new to me.
What species mulberry tree do the leaves come from?

I know I tried blanched zucchini. Everyone's shrimp seems to like it but mine-your pumpkin neos, my crs, and fire reds snub it, although the mystery snails can't get enough of it. And the more slimey and degraded the item (especially banana leaf) the more they tend to like it.

i have the tantora bark, but not sure how much should i use for my 3g tank. how much do you use?

For 3G I'd cut a piece into 3rds and use just 1/3rd at a time.

A few weeks later you can add another 1/3rd.

I use 1/2 pieces in my 4G breeder tanks with success.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am incorrect, heh, but as far as I know- any species of Mulberry is fine to use.
I dont know but I will ask Tantora if they can provide more specific info on the species of mulberry their leaves are collected from.
Yes any pesticide free mulberry will be fine
I just bought two mulberry trees... I must stop my spending :(
