Hi I recently purchased a used 75g tank and stand. On closer inspection the tank overhangs the stand by about 1/4 inch front to back. Is this an issue?

I think you'll be fine, I've had tanks hang over way more then that with no problems. As long as your stand can take the weight of the tank, it will be okay.

I just took another look and the glass is just off the edge of the stand.

It might not hurt to cut a piece of 1/2" plywood to stick on top to match the footprint of the tank.

As long as its supported length wise front and back I would not be to concerned , again as noted if your stand can handle the weight , a piece of stranded plywood stained or painted to match would be nice

It's probably not a huge deal but... with a 75gal tank, I'd personally rather be safe than sorry.

I know what a huge mess just a failed 10gal tank can make!
