I have had a tank for almost 8 months and i just started to put plants in the tank. but i have a current T8 17 watts Coralife actinic blue light, But is there ample light for the plants. Its a 29g tank or should i put the stock T8 back in its a 17W 8k.

I got a power-glo 20w 18k from a friend that got ride of his tank. (only a few weeks on the light.

Out of an actinic, an 8000k, and a 18000k, I would use the 8000k. The actinic is pretty much usless.

Dang i was hoping i still could use the actinic for the blue light it gives off..

With the 8000K you can only grow anubias and ferns.
With the Power-glo you can grow anubias, ferns, and crypts.
If you wish to upgrade and not inject Co2 get a SolarMax dual light strip at Pet Blvd. Jacob has it over is 20G tall

If i get a dual light set up can i run the 8k n the power glo to put off more light (aka watts per gallon)

Because i read somewhere that running dual lights running 3k lights is not the same as a 9k light
OR did i read that wrong?
