Would a T5 HO 2x54 on a 24" deep tank (60 gallons) be sufficient for sword plants and other low light plants with Flourish and Excel?
So T5 HO don't apply to the 2 watts per gallon?yep...it would be closer to med/high light tho
but get a rich substrate for heavy root feeders
Would you suggest any specific brand? I've bookmarked your blog as well. With good reflectors 2x T5NO is plenty for a 24" high tank *if* you make it easy for the plants to grow by using non-limiting fertz and CO2.
See pix at my blog for an example.

Watts per gallon is an outdated rule of thumb that came about when there were two types of lighting for aquariums. Incandescent and ancient fluorescent lighting. So T5 HO don't apply to the 2 watts per gallon?
It'll have eco-complete.![]()
