Bulbs are way too close in that fixture, plus no reflector...

If you are handy, you can build yourself a canopy for much less with better specs...

For a low light tank, I bought

1 Advance ballast that can drive 4 T8 bulbs ($18)
2 good T5 reflectors ($40)
2 T5 bulbs ($18)

This gives me about 80W with good efficiency.

If you are not into DIY, then just ignore my babbling. :icon_mrgr

PS - got ninja'd, I was referring to the T5 fixture!

I just got one of these today for my 15gallon shrimp tank. I like it for the tank but Im only doing low light with no co2.

I also got a Odyssea T5 108watt for my 55gallon, along with my original 55gallon light [came with package] equalling 148Watts 2.6w/g. I just started the CO2 today, I was waiting for a extention cord with timers for each plug.

But I don't know much about lighting I just take the LFS person's advice on the lights as he actually KNOWs [for once] what he's talking about. And I knew how many watts per gallon I was looking for.
