I am curious if anyone has looked into this. I have a ton of indoor grow stores near me (like one per 5 sq mile area) and almost no good LFS. These stores sell T-5 HO bulbs in 6700k for like $12-$13. Is there any reason why these would be a bad option? It seems like color temp is same regardless of the application? just wanted to see if anyone has any input.

They should be just fine. Go for it. I use GE 6500K and they only cost a little more than that online. They work great for me.

ya i was stoked when I called them, I am gonna get a few and try them, if they work I will buy like a pack of 10 which will lower the cost to like 8-10 bucks a bulb. On another note, i have been gone awhile, but it seems strange that I can not find Power compact replacements ANYWHERE in town. It is absolutely all t-5 now

PC lighting is definitely on the way out thanks to T5HO and LED.

Yeah, I just upgraded from my metal halide to T5s. My Minneapolis electrician buddy was saying they are currently still more efficient and cost less than others even LEDs. Although, I know that LEDs are getting better and the cost will go down eventually.
