Just wanted to say thanks for turning my onto the surface skimmer for all of the protein/oil spill look.

I hooked up to canister filter, stuck one suction cup on, adjusted the intake and "Bam" ! within 15 minutes the surface of my tank changed to a clear glass surface :icon_smil

I got it from Dr. foster site http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=12703, though if I had seen it soon at Aquatek (LFS) I could have saved myself 3 dollars..lol

See, I used to run those mechanical surface skimmers. This lat timearound, I tried a pair of Mollies. Surface is clear!!

yeah, Tim that was a great suggestion
Never used or had mollies..I go from aggressive cichlids to mild planted tank, its a big enough change for me..lol

I bought one of those, but haven't hooked it up because I have floating plants (duckweed) and don't want them getting sucked into the filter.
