I bought scotch super glue to attached some plants to rocks, and contains ethyl cyanoacrylate and hydroquinone

Is this safe to use?
It should be; it appears to be essentially inert once it's cured; I've used a ton of it in both freshwater and reef tanks.

You'll probably have better luck with gel than the thin stuff, if that's not what you already have. Gel takes a minute or so to cure underwater, which gives you time to get the item in place and hold it solid long enough to cure. Works very nicely for anubias, buce, etc.
