Hello all. I am starting to get everything together for my first planted tank. The only substrate that I can find locally is florite at $23 a bag. I can order eco-complete from Big Als at $17 a bag but shipping for 2 bags is gonna cost about $40. I have read better things about eco-complete but is it worth the extra cost?

Ive used both, they are both good substrates... what color do ya like better is what it comes down to really. :icon_wink

You could also try asking your local shop to order you a couple bags...this works sometimes because they order goods in bulk anyways and they dont pay "individual" shipping costs.

It has worked for me when I am not in a hurry.
