Substrate divider

I know this question has been asked many times, (twice by myself alone) but I still don't have a good answer for this. I am looking to put in a permanent substrate divider, not something to use while filling the tank. It needs to be transparent, flexible enough to put into place, but rigid enough to hold up against the weight of substrate. Many have suggested strips cut from soda bottles; I ran into 2 problems:

1. That damn strip of gummy tacky glue and label that will never come off
2. It is not long enough, I have to silicone two pieces together.

Is there anywhere I could order the material they make soda bottles out of in sheets? For not very much money, or be forced to make a bulk order?

You can get those sheets they use for transparencies for overhead projectors at any office store, but the longest they'd be is most likely 11 inches. How long does it have to be?

50' enough?

Actually you might be able to find some thin plexiglass at your local Home improvement place. Just score, and then snap.
From Your own thread-The Wall:

*sigh* Yet another upgrade and dent in my wallet...

Very Cool imo.

I'm not really sure I/We understand what you are trying to accomplish.....? Keeping 2 different substrates separated--I got that. But how "visible" is this separator going to be?
As taz said you can get plexiglass, the thin stuff can be heated and bent to shape if you have a propane torch. You dont need to get the flame right up on the stuff, just close enough to warm it without scorching.
Just lay a strip of plexi over something thats close to the shape you want and it will conform to it fairly easily when slightly heated. The oven works too, just keep an eye on it.
As invisible as possible. I'm trying to create a peninsula covered in HC jutting out into the sand foreground.
