Hi everyone :icon_bigg

Is it just me? I can't get the substrate calculator to work. I get a "fatal error" message when I slect the link to the calculator.

Cheers,
Robyn

How much does a 9L bag of AquaSoil weigh?

The mizuworld calculator uses pounds for AquaSoil and not liters.

I just found this out: 9L will fill up a 90L tank 10%. Use the calculator to determine the amount your tank holds in Liters and you can use the original 9L/90L calculation to help you determine a depth.

1 liter = 0.264172052 US gallons

you can probably figure out the rest from there...

but, i belive the footprint of your tank is most important. so what i do is figure 3" deep uniform across the bottom of the tank. of course you will have some high and low spots but if you figure 3", you are generally fine and adding wood and rocks can always take up more volume for you leaving you with extra substrate.

so figure out the dimensions and get it in cubic inches or cubic feet, whatever you like...then convert that to liters on google...

Formula One: The aquarium is 37g or 140L. The 9L/90L ratio means that I need 14L.

Formula Two: Using the footprint (30"x12") and 3" of substrate depth = 1080 cubic inches.

1 liter = 61.0237441 cubic inches

Then 1080 cubic inches = 17.7L

So, two 9L bags will have me covered using either formula.

Thanks very much guys for your help.
