I saw a strange little creature in the bag. There was very little water left over and I saw something which looked like a brine shrimp in the bag. When the water shifted and he was left in the open air, it would actually craw on the bag towards the water then jump in. It was the strangest little creature. I put him in my fish tank to give him a fighting chance.

Does anyone know what such an animal could be?

Maybe it was a Daphnia creature. It has the ability to move without water towards the water. It did have legs/arms/things to swim as well as drag itself on the surface. It was absolutely not any type of worm-like creature. I have never seen anything like it.

I personally like Daphnia - they can be used to culture and be live free food.
